Mull Otters two day workshops 2021 £300 per person.
My Otters workshop on the beautiful island of Mull on Scotland's west coast is a huge hit with my clients who like nothing better than simply getting out into the wild to photograph these amazing animals.
There is definitely something very special indeed about all the key elements to this workshop, the scenery, the weather, the ruggedness and of course, the otters.
The workshop comprises of two full days of photography, where i will take you to locations where i know they are active with the view to getting you into the best possible position for that shot !
Your workshop is 8hrs per day, but i generally let it run a bit longer if the activity is good on the day, after all we are here to photograph otters !
I will provide the transport for your workshop, so all you need to do is get to Mull.
Your Arrival.
I will meet you at the pier in Craignure and once everyone has arrived and you have settled in to your accommodation, we will have a short half hour meeting just to brief you on details for your first days photography.
Your Workshop.
The workshop will start at a time that's suitable to the tide, as the best time to see otters is generally 2hrs before low tide and 2 hrs after low tide, so start times may vary slightly.
Cameras.
A DSLR body is perfect, although a bridge camera with a decent zoom facility can work too.
Bring plenty of cards.
Lenses.
A 400 mm or 500 mm is perfect for this workshop, also a 300 mm with a 1.4 convertor works well.
Large zooms are great too, 100 mm to 600 mm, 200 mm to 500 mm .
I have had a client with a 200 mm with a 2x convertor on the workshop, and his results were very acceptable.
Tripods.
A tripod is handy but sometimes i feel it slows you down considering you may be on the move in search of the otters, i find a monopod works much better here giving you much more flexibility.
Waterproofing.
Allegedly it rains in Scotland ! please make sure you bring some form of waterproofing for your kit, there is nothing worse than having to dive for cover if your caught in a shower just at the moment the otter arrives.
Clothing.
Greens, browns or camouflage are great here, allowing you to blend in, no bright colours, waterproof clothing is essential in case it rains.
Fitness Levels.
Although this workshop is around Mull's coastline, you certainly don't need to be super fit to be on the workshop, a moderate amount of walking is required.
Transport.
All you have to do is get there, I provide transport for your time on the workshop, from pick up to return to your accommodation.
Food.
On your workshop you will receive snacks and hot & cold drinks through out the day.
Accommodation.
As our workshop isn't a residential, you will have to sort out own accommodation for your time on the workshop, as no accommodation is provided, there is good accommodation at the Craignure Inn just across from the ferry terminal, there is also accommodation at the Shielings also at Craignure if camping is more your thing.
Mull Otters one to one workshop.
If you would rather have a one to one workshop, simply get in touch and we can take it from there. Mull Otters one to one --- £ 350
A workshop with friends !
If you would rather have your workshop with friends, just get in touch with a date in mind and i can sort something out for you
